Wednesday Morning, 2 a.m.
Tod Hunter writes:After a long drive to Las Vegas with the XFANZ guys, we pulled into our hotel, entrusted our luggage and video equipment to the valets and checked in. Thoroughly exhausted, the rest of the guys turned in, to get some much needed rest before the 8 a.m. ribbon-cutting.
I headed over to the Oculus Bar in the Venetian Casino.
The first person I spotted was Lisa Sparxxx, in from Kentucky, relaxing in a chair in front of a slot machine in a low-cut brown sweater and nursing a small brown drink. She was wearing the traditional I'm-a-porn-star Tiffany heart toggle necklace. Across the aisle was Joel Lawrence, Lexi Lamour and Ethan Cage from Gold Star Modeling. Joel is introducing around a new performer, a brand-new never-been-shot Asian girl. She hasn’t picked a name yet.
On the clockwise tour I saw Scott David from X-Play, Joanna Angel, Anh Tran from Wanted List, all deep in conversation. I met Joanna a couple of years ago at the old KSEX studios. I wonder if she remembers.
Mr. Marcus, Erik Everhard and euro-performer David Perry are talking shop in one corner with newcomer Michael Angelo. When we're introduced, I tell Angelo "I've seen your pictures."
Perry sputters his drink back into his glass, thinking I said "I've seen your penis."
"This is great," Marcus grins. "It's like seeing the old guard again. It's homecoming." Kaylani Lei walks up to Marcus and gives him a big hug.
As I make my farewell lap, — I'm tired too — I run into Joel and the Asian girl again. She's picked a name.
It's Kimmy Thai.
It has begun.
